@grayareas wow... I remember hearing about him awhile ago, but had no idea how deep it went.
@grayareas Wow.
And I know some people reading this are probably laughing. They think it’s almost funny.
I was nodding the whole time.
@Bruce @kordumb He hits on so many things that resonate with truth & pain. I really hope Ben’s got his feet under him now. I love what he’s trying to do here, and it’s so important too. Let’s hope it reaches people who need that kind of help & are maybe ready to hear it.
@grayareas Wow. Thanks for linking; I’ve saved it to Pocket to read later, but what I’ve seen is pretty powerful already. The Players Tribune publishes some amazing first-person work.
@grayareas Amen to that. It’s super heartening to see an athlete/celebrity being so honest about their mental health.
@garciabuxton @kordumb @bruce Guys, the second article I linked to from THE PLAYERS TRIBUNE — by former Chicago Bulls center, Eddy Curry — is also an excellent read. I found it quite moving and, ultimately, uplifting. Highly recommended.
@garciabuxton I have to admit I gently mocked the idea of THE PLAYERS TRIBUNE when it launched. I thought there was no real need for a platform like that. But I was wrong. They’ve published some incredible personal essays. It definitely has a place and role to fill.
@grayareas Wow. Thanks for the heads up. The Players Tribune really is publishing some amazing stuff.
@grayareas thanks for sharing. I’ve honestly never even given the Players Tribune a glance. Found both pieces moving.
@grayareas I agree. Anything that humanizes players is necessary for fans.
@dustdaughter Yeah, they've ended up publishing a lot of good stuff. Especially the NBA guys.
