After working with Git Kraken for a week, I can’t see myself using it fulltime. I think I’ll gladly pay the premium for Tower again. Good usability has a price, and Kraken somehow feels too much like what it is… cross platform.

@hutaffe have you also tried Sublime Merge? It’s by the same folks behind Sublime Text, if you’ve used that. It’s not the prettiest app, but it has a lot of functionality. I really like how it handles merge conflicts.
@hutaffe On my work Mac I just use the command line like a caveman—old habits die hard, I guess. 🤣 Working Copy is fantastic on my iPad at home.
@donnydavis from the screenshots it looks even harder to use, but I‘ll give it a try! Thanks for the hint 🙂
@pimoore working copy on the iPad is great! I’m just too lazy for the command line 🙈 I prefer to drag and click 🤪
@hutaffe Yeah, admittedly part of that is I don’t have access to paid apps like Tower on my work machine. And the repos I sync to my computer are kept in my folder on our SMB share, so my git needs are relatively minimal. I thought about putting them into a private GitHub repo instead—and maybe using the macOS official GitHub app—but I honestly can’t be bothered.
@hutaffe yeah, it does take some adjusting to get used to. The real power in it, for me, is the keyboard shortcuts that it has. That’s how I mainly use it.
