📚 I’ve been listening to the Hamilton book by Ron Chernow since we saw Hamilton the Musical last week. First, I hear the music from the show in my head while listening to the book and omg this book is long. Still 29 hours to go.
@jnjosh Ron Chernow is one of my favorite authors, but boy are his books long. On Audible his Washington book is 41 hours and his Grant book is 48 hours. His books really made me re-think how I want to figure I want to read x number of books this year
@klandwehr @jnjosh Grant is one of the best books I've read this year, if not the best. It's worth reading in hardcopy if the audio length is too much.
@donmacdonald @klandwehr Yeah I’m really enjoying this book. I don’t mind the length as much until I get bored which luckily hasn’t happened. I’m definitely going to add those two books to my books to listen/read list. Thanks for the recommendation.
@donmacdonald I did finish the audible version of the Grant book and enjoyed it very much. My length statement was not so much a complaint as a reminder to myself of the problem with the idea of reading x books a year is that not all books are of an equal length
