Also, in unrelated news, I checked Readwise Reader on the web, and boy is that a pretty app!

@maique and it’s quite good. My wallet won’t be happy.

@maique It might be worth it. It certainly is to me, but I am adjacent, at least, to the academic world. I’ve worked hard to whittle down the website/app subscriptions this year. I think, by the end of the year, I’ll have it down to 3 or 4. Readwise and Micro.blog will definitely make the cut.

@dgreene196 I canceled another one yesterday (raindrop pro), in an attempt to justify this one. I like it, mostly, for aesthetic reasons, I think it’s beautiful. As with most other things I fall for, I wouldn’t use it to its full potential, as I don’t need it. Omnivore is more than enough, and free, but Reader is so polished I keep thinking about it.

@maique There’s a lot there; I think it’s a small minority of users able to benefit from all the features. But, as a user, isn’t it fun to see how much use you can get out of service/tool/toy?

@dgreene196 It is, for sure. I just subscribed to another one (Gentler Streak), for the same reasons: looks great, and I wonder how I’ll use it. Alas, this one had a 50% discount going at the moment, and the amount they were asking made me do it on the spot. Still finding Reader too expensive for an impulse buy 😅
