Last week I went snowshoeing in the backcountry behind Thredbo in the Snowy Mountains. It was a great experience.
@desparoz According to Wikipedia this area is in southern New South Wales, Australia, and the Snowies is the tallest mountain range in mainland Australia.
@Ron That its true. Mt Kosciuszko is the tallest mountain in the states and mainland territories of Australia. The only taller mountains belonging to Australia are in our Antarctic territories.
I’ve done the trek to Mt K a couple of times in Summer. But this was my first winter venture beyond the ski resorts.
A really beautiful area, and not what many would associate with Australia.
@desparoz I have no words to describe how gorgeous this is, and perhaps not coincidentally how much I miss winter.
