This morning I flew my drone above our campsite and the nearby bay.

@dejus I love how campsites in the States always seem to have their own benches / fire pits etc. Something the UK should do (consistently).

@RossA It is convenient. It may vary by campground; this is our first trip, so I’m not at all experienced, but it does seem pretty standard. Having full hookups (power, water, sewer, even TV if we wanted) is very convenient, too.

@dejus Love these photos. You may have shared this before but can you let me know which drone you are using? Is it easy to maneuver?

@pratik It’s the DJI Mavic Mini. The Mini 2 is a more recent model, with a higher resolution camera. A great little portable drone, very easy to fly. It doesn’t have object avoidance like fancier ones, but it’s so stable, I haven’t crashed it (yet).

@dejus Thanks. The crashing part also concerns me. But I guess I won’t know until I try it, right?

@dejus Awesome pics. The Mavic 2 is the one I’m leaning toward getting at some point. I like that the Mavic series is so compact. My flying partner for a 7 day tour last month carries a drone with him. @pratik

@pratik It’s good to worry about crashing, but you don’t need to worry too much. Fly with the guards at first, and aim for slow movements and staying well away from obstacles, and you’ll soon get used to it. The GPS really helps keep it stable; previous drones I’ve had would wander all over the place, but this drone just anchors itself in the sky.
