@crossingthethreshold Every now and then my wife and I talk about where in the world would we gladly go through the chaose of up-rooting despite having never even visited and yeah... just yeah. π
@simonwoods If you had said to me 15 years ago that I would be living in Hawaii, I would have wondered where in the world your reasoning was coming from. I do miss βhomeβ at times, but this island has treated me well. I have a lot to thank her for.
@crossingthethreshold @simonwoods My wife and I often talk about moving to Hawaii one day. I don't know if it'll ever happen, but it's a fun dream. Southern Oregon is a more feasible option, but the current wildfires are a good reminder of why that may not be the best choice (they get them more often down there).
@dejus @crossingthethreshold I know nowhere is perfect but the thought of living in such a place is an increasingly tantalising idea.
@simonwoods @dejus I sometimes fantasize, especially if things aren't going well in the world, that I am in the best place - isolated, away from whatever is going on. I'm not sure that that is true, but it can put my mind at ease for a few hours/days.
