One of the things I’ve come to understand and accept about myself is just how intolerant I am of advertising. I mean, in general, since the examples of good advertising are in such a minority of the media ecosystems.
I even have memories of disliking it as a child. 😂
@simonwoods Me too. I go out of my way to avoid advertising, including being an early "cord cutter", blocking web ads, paying for podcast memberships to get ad-free editions, etc. I used to enjoy using Pinterest, but stopped when they started junking up the feed with ads.
@dejus Yep, same here for the former. Currently holding onto Pinterest purely for the search, though given the opportunity I will spend some time testing out alternative approaches.
I've got to the point where I barely hesitate to drop an entire thing if there are no ad-free options. The main exception to this is YouTube, though I'm currently on the free trial for Premium and am seriously weighing up the value of that subscription.
