From listening to Hypercritical and ATP I can’t come across an expiration date field on the Web and not get annoyed. If you know how to write an error to detect bad formatting, you know how to accept any formatting and just fix it! It’s literally a first-year comp sci problem!

@davextreme There are so many things like that that annoy me. When DC Comics started putting digital codes in (some) of their comics I was happy. Then I was annoyed that you had to either include or exclude the dash in the code (I honestly can't remember which). I had to enter them twice for a while as I made the wrong guess over and over. There's no reason this should be something the user should have to worry about! (Either they have fixed this at some point or I've finally gotten my instict right about which one to do becuase I haven't had to enter them twice for a while)

@DrOct If you get a code for the Nintendo eShop, it never uses two similar-looking characters (as in O and 0), and it greys out one of them on the keyboard so you can’t try the wrong one.

@davextreme Absolutely! Or the embedded spaces in credit card numbers or (Canadian) postal codes! Who writes this code?!
