Day 29: fish

As a kid in my German class I learnt;

“Fischers Fritze fischt frische Fische, frische Fische fischt Fischers Fritze'”

Rough Translation;

“Fisher Fritz catches fresh fish. Fresh fish is what Fisher Fritz catches.”

@JohnPhilpin I wouldn’t have made it through the German part, but after you translated it, I can say it’s a nice piece. Besides, I love tongue twisters, and this reminded me of a shorter, simpler one… she sells shell in the seashore, or something like it…

@danielsantos i think you are thinking of

'she sells sea shells on the sea shore.'

@JohnPhilpin Exactly! Sorry for the mistake, I’m not a native English speaker and it’s been quite a while since I last said or wrote it, though it’s still a tongue twister and I still love it :)

@danielsantos no no no … no mistake at all … and I know English is not your first language - but not because of your English … which is way better than many first language natives!

@JohnPhilpin you’re very kind. I used to teach ESL here in Brazil, that’s where most of my fluency comes from… also, I’m very fond of languages in general — although German is waaaaay out of my league :)

@danielsantos It was out of mine aswell! Though I did better at it than Latin. (Don't ask).

Music and Maths are my two languages outside of English

@JohnPhilpin that’s nice! Not a music person myself, except for listening. As for math, I like it and I like statistics… and data science. But in terms of other languages, j’aime le français… although I’m a beginner and a little rusty there too.

@danielsantos My music and maths knowledge doesn’t quite qualify me for a '101' course - but they both work internationally - and are of course tightly connected.
