The west coast of Michigan is an under-appreciated beach paradise. If the water were a little warmer you might call it the Midwest Caribbean.

@danielpunkass Yes, recently enjoyed some days in Lakeside, Michigan, on the coastal Red Arrow Highway. The beach goes on & on.

@danielpunkass That and the "northern" coast of Lake Michigan along the Upper Peninsula between St. Ignace and Manistique on US-2. There is a reason why they are the Great Lakes!
