February Photoblogging Challenge Day 21: My bedside table is a sign of tech progress over time and an inability to let go. Next to that iPod Hi-Fi is an iPhone 5 dock that still fits my larger 11 Pro perfectly. 📷 😀
@dandycat It’s going well! I have an AirPort Express plugged into it for AirPlay 2. It’s one of my favourite possessions.
@martinfeld I’ve had the same charging dock since I has a 5 (although mine is red). Fits my XR perfectly. I can also slot my airpods case on too. Such good docks.
@martinfeld What a great setup. Sure, HomePods are nice, but they don’t look nearly as grand or impressive as that monster of a speaker.
@yorrike That’s right! Why replace such things if they continue to do a good job? I used to plug my 7 Plus into it, which was somewhat comical, however now that it’s a slightly narrower phone with the 11 Pro it makes a lot more sense.
@martinfeld Easy fix: just get one black HomePod and one white HomePod. What’s a meager 600 bucks when fashion is involved? 😄

Do you use HomePods or any other AirPlay 2 speakers?
@martinfeld I’ve got a pair of HomePods that I’ve really enjoyed using. They’re great for music, of course, but I’ve also been using them for movie and tv content from my Apple TV. I’ve been wondering if I should look into Sonos for that instead. Do you have any experience with those speakers?
@dandycat My only experience is mucking around with them at Apple Stores. I can’t say much more than that but they seemed quite good!
