Young consumers love brands that are cool

Since constantly innovating is at the core of what’s considered cool, brands that make sure they’re on the cutting-edge of emerging trends (even when they never fully take off) may keep getting the cool points.

This means brands like Nike & Jordan, YouTube, Fenty Beauty, TikTok.

All names with strong, unique brands and aligned with recognizable personalities.

Being on trend + a strong, unique brand + personality = the framework for brand success these days

@curiouskyle This is probably why I hardly can get running shoes in the colour I like anymore.

@odd what’s your preferred color?

I choose based on which colorway doubles as a rescue beacon should I fall and hit my head, especially for trail shoes

@curiouskyle Haha, smart thinking! For me it’s colour combinations, really. My favorite is black with white sole-sides and red sole, white lace holes, and red laces. I know this narrows it down extremely, and I could go with other combos if they feel right to me. (And when I said running shoes I really meant walking shoes, because at the moment I’m not in shape to run.)

@odd seems like the black/white/red combo has been a staple for years, but it does feel like most of what I've seen recently has been the minimal black-white style. Maybe some red accents.
