How do you handle your short, title less posts?
Just keep them on your main blog?
Have a separate blog just for short posts, and link to it on your main blog?
If you keep them on your main blog, do you somehow separate them out? Does your theme give you that ability or have you coded this option in?
@cliff538 don’t handle at all. They are all in the blog, no specific differentiation. Same for photos. I just like having a single place for all the things.
@pcora Thank you, I appreciate the input! I know this has been a running question. I may try putting my short posts meant for Mastodon on a separate blog, on a subdomain for a month or so. If that doesn’t work, I’ll just go back to what you are doing. Nice and simple.
@cliff538 I have everything in the main blog, and I also have menu items for things like “longer reads” and a handful of other projects that I write about.
@crossingthethreshold Thank you, thats another good way. Using the link “longer reads” how do you separate those out? Microhook? Or does your theme have that option?
@cliff538 For me I made a “longer read” any post with a title. So I have a category for title posts, and automatically filter titled posts into that category.
@cliff538 I’ve tried a few combinations and then decided to simplify to everything on the main blog. I’m using the mnml theme which does allow you to filter the main page by category
@mroutley Thank you! I use mnml for my photoblog so haven’t needed the filtering. My main blog is Tiny Theme, I will have to see if there is an easy way to filter on the main blog page. I have set up a separate blog using a subdomain for my short posts now, I think I will try that for a month.
