@maique For Micro.blog, I use Micro.blog but was wondering if I can use this everywhere else. I needed to generate alt text on some images yesterday. I ended up uploading them to Micro.blog and deleting them after I got the alt text š
@maique I had some problems with the Shortcuts.
First, selecting in Photos and then running the Shortcut from the share sheet only worked on the first run for me, after that I had to run the Shortcut directly (even after reinstalling).
Second, although I had generated an API key with OpenAI, I got an error and the Shortcut stopped working (again even after reinstalling).
I threw the towel in after that.
@jarrod
@crossingthethreshold @jarrod Yup. Tried what @maique suggested. I got this error. Iām on the paid plan for ChatGPT so do have access to gpt-4 but not sure about the vision-preview part

@pratik @crossingthethreshold Thanks for showing the error message. The only thing I can think of is this limitation from OpenAI:
> How do I access the GPT-4 API?
>
> If youāre a Pay-As-You-Go customer and youāve made a successful payment of $1 or more, youāll be able to access the GPT-4 API (8k).
Have either of you made at least a $1 payment in the pay-as-you-go plan?
As for the Share Sheet weirdness, Iāve run into that too with multiple shortcuts. I canāt tell if itās a bug with Shortcuts or the Share Sheet and itās very frustrating. FWIW, I run it most of the time with a widget on the Home Screen which brings up the photos picker.
Happy to help troubleshoot further!
@jarrod I have $18 in credits, but yup, I havenāt spent much lately. I have an organization account that I am now using as my personal account with my payment details. I added a couple of dollars more just to see if it refreshed but shortcut still doesnāt work.
@pratik Iām flummoxed! 𤨠Thatās the model Iām using and just tested. I wonder if their support could figure out why your account doesnāt have access to it.
@jarrod @pratik I was having a simular issue late last week when testing them out but then just ended up doing a month Plus subscription as I was at the same time curious of using other things more. Not that it helps but that did solve the problem for me but wondering once I cancel if it would still work or not. I noticed in something I read how they have to maybe enable it to work for your account even as the pay-as-you-go.
@jarrod It just worked for me šš½ I guess re-upping the credit by a few dollars helped jiggle the API wires a bit. @crossingthethreshold, I suggest doing that and waiting for 20-30 mins before you try again. @maique @ericmwalk
@maique I havenāt had time to look at it yet. Hopefully later todayā¦ie, by the time that you wake up š„±
@pratik Iām just getting round to looking at this. Are you talking about the āUsageā page on the OpenAI website. My limit is currently sitting at $5, what it was set to when I created my secret key. Iāve spent nothing so far (because the Shortcut is not working). Iām also not clear how I am billed for the times that I use the API?
@jarrod @maique
@crossingthethreshold You should have a credit card on file, no? You can set a limit on how much you want to spend.
@pratik I was not asked to in the set up processā¦though I expected it. Right now I canāt see where I do that?
@pratik Thank you. Sorry, I was distracted. I am having trouble getting details accepted. Iāll plug away and keep trying. I appreciate your help.
@pratik Iāve just been scrolling through the OpenAI community forums. It appears that there have been a lot of problems with people unable to register credit cards on their system. Iāll try again tomorrowā¦or just go back to my old workflow.
@crossingthethreshold @pratik I have been having the same issues. My card is declined everytime.
@jomalo Hereās a link to the thread on the OpenAI forums that I was reading through yesterday. There are further threads linked to at the bottom.
One problem appears to be linked to the browser that you use, another appears to be whether or not you use a VPN. And of course there are some people who are simply having no luck whichever route they choose.
@pratik it could be my type of card. The internet does not get my regular visa, it was shut down a couple of times for fraud years ago. It took months to fix the mess the last time. Switched to a prepaid card with a small balance for the internet. It has worked everywhere else I use it. I guess they just donāt want my money.
