I hear people like Bear a lot. Personally, I’m a Ulysses user.
Can someone tell me why they like Bear more?
Just wondering what I’m missing out.

@vishae I’m giving up on Bear. I don’t like the tagging, and the lack of typewriter mode is a killer. Mind you, now I’m in a state of confusion about where to keep my random notes, a so haven’t found my ideal replacement.

@vishae I've ended up using both. I use Ulysses for ‘big' or regular or 'serious' projects. For example, this year I'm learning Te Reo Māori again and am keeping my notes, exercises, word lists etc there. I use Bear for every day things, casual things, random things. For example, I keep a note of date, time, response, names etc if I order firewood or something. I also keep my lists for groceries, chores to be done etc.

@canion for random notes, I find Drafts to be a great app. But it doesn’t have typewriter mode either. Ulysses does, and it could use either folder or tags.

@Miraz it’s interesting, I want to use Ulysses for everything, but it’s true, I also tend to only use it for longer notes. I jot down snippets into Drafts throughout the day, and then at the end of the day I merge them together and export them from Drafts and append them to a monthly Ulysses sheet with the date as a h2 subheading.

@vishae I've used Bear and Ulysses. I used Ulysses since it came out, but recently dropped it for a couple of reasons. I decided that I didn't like the way that it stored files, not being easily accessible outside of Ulysses, and then for the use that I got out of it, I couldn't justify the subscription cost.
I now use IA Writer for my general writing.
Bear I have used for general note taking and like it.
However I am now experimenting with going back to Apple Notes which I feel that I have overlooked, and do like it.
