Micro.blog does not show follower counts. It doesn’t tell you when somebody follows you. It has no concept of a like or favorite. There are definite benefits to this system. I found that when I first joined Micro.blog that I was so used to indications that people were reading my posts and following me (from other platforms), it was very disconcerting and I had this sense that I was shouting into the void.
With time, personally I have found this to be a relief. It lessens my own want for that feedback and I (try to) concentrate more on just posting. Don’t get me wrong, I feel good and appreciate when people respond to my posts, but I have noticed a lessening within myself of looking for that.
