Well while I didn’t get out to see the Jaws surf break yesterday that I had spoken about, some people were surfing those monsters and others got to take photos of the day. I did get to see some slightly smaller, though still big waves further down the coast. Plenty of people turned out ... www.crossingthethreshold.net

@crossingthethreshold I can't fathom the courage of those who get out and tangle with those monster waves. If I'm in the sea a little 5 cm wave has me concerned. 😆

@crossingthethreshold when these monster north swells happen there are stacks of breaks outside the Hilo breakwater. Back in the day we would go out of Hilo bay in our one man canoes and surf off of the right shoulder of the most outside break and ride all the way back into Hilo bay. Very memorable
