I’m surprised nobody’s forked WordPress yet to hang onto the original editor. (Of course, I was surprised nobody forked Movable Type—at least successfully—back when it was still open source.)
@philbowell As far as I'm aware. It has XML-RPC so should be fine. They are planning to move that to a plugin in future versions but can't see any issues.
@colinwalker I hadn't! I'm not at all surprised that kind of fork exists. It sounds like they'll actually take the ball and run with it, as opposed to the OpenMelody folks a decade ago who started to fork Movable Type 4 and then just kinda vanished.
