Trying to identify a new visitor to the garden.

It's not a sparrow, at least not a common sparrow, it's darker — darker than the photo makes it appear.

@TheDimPause I was considering that but it didnt seem quite right. Maybe.

@colinwalker what sort of size? If bigger than a sparrow I was wondering if it was a redwing?
