My wife is about to embark on a Theology degree and one of the books to read in advance is How To Write a Theology Essay by Micheal P Jensen. @colinwalker It’s because thinking is hard work that I long ago realized that I prefer to see myself as a writer, rather than a thinker, or “intellectual”. I often write as a substitute for thinking — and sometimes (I hope) as a backdoor into it.

@artkavanagh Indeed, later in the book (I've just reached this) he says "to write well is to think well."
