@jeremycherfas according to the font of generally, mostly accurate information, they’re named after an early twentieth century Transport Minister 🤔

@JMaxB From memory, those accurately constructed zigzags extend some 15 m from the zebra crossing and vehicles are not allowed to park there. @cn
