@jemostrom I think about this off and on. I’ve become increasingly bothered by the way in which the world of tech has always offered email as if it is just as limited and relatively easy to regulate as postal correspondence.

It also reflects another fact; that regular people have no interest whatsoever in the lightning-fast progress of technology, compared to hobbyists. They just want something that works reliably on a daily basis.

@SimonWoods That’s an interesting thought that “regular people have no interest whatsoever in the lightning-fast progress of technology, compared to hobbyists.” I would add to that tech geeks, like myself, easily distracted by the shiny and new - like a magpie. My wife fits in the regular people category. She can’t understand my lust for the latest and greatest tech.
