Sheep grazing along a road in the Inyo National Forest. There are some Basques around here who drive sheep all over the countryside during the summer. We wondered if the forest service lets them graze to keep the foliage down along the roads.
@cliffordbeshers Our railway service enlisted goats to keep the small trees and general vegetation down. 🐐 🛤️
@odd Yup. We have companies here that provide the herds. NASA JPL has them come through regularly, in part to eat things like poison oak, that are a real pain for humans to remove. The goats have no trouble with it.
