@dandycat That’s brutal, not to mention incredibly taxing on your immune system—clearly not something anyone needs right now.
@dandycat Not good. Twenty years back, I was in LV, and it was 25°C in mid-December, but I guess it’s always warm there. I like 25°C, but in the summer. Not envious.
@pimoore Perhaps that would explain the out of nowhere sneeze attacks I've been getting today!
@odd That's not a fun temperature to experience in mid-December, even in that city. That's remarkable, though. And I'm a bit closer to the equator than they are; I don't know how they're warmer (although they are far more desert-y than I am).
You know who I'm envious of? You! Your climate seems like a dream to me.
@dandycat Haha, so says @pimoore ! Well, I guess I consider myself lucky to have four real seasons where i am, although climate change is happening here too. Norway needs more bright and warm-hearted people, so if either of you find the opportunity, I think you’ll be welcome. I guess you’ll have to fight the Law of Jante, that’s still somewhat prevalent here.
*) Norwegians are perceived by many, (often ourselves even), as cold and rude people, and to some extent that’s true, but sometimes it helps to get to know them.
@jemostrom 😂🤣 You must be thinking about new Free Church members or newly begotten drunk Norwegians! 😊🤪 @dandycat
@jemostrom @odd @dandycat Ooh! Nordic fight! I'm gettng popcorn.
@cliffordbeshers @odd @dandycat there is one simple rule in a fight like this: it's only Swedes that are allowed to make fun of Norwegians, Sweden will fight anyone else who make fun of Norway.
@cliffordbeshers @odd @dandycat do you know how to spot a Norwegian in a desert?
They are the ones who are carry around a car door!!!
??????
So they can roll down the window when it gets too hot.
@jemostrom The same with us! Medelsvensson is safe with us, if we are allowed to poke a little fun. 🇳🇴🤝🇸🇪 @cliffordbeshers
@odd @cliffordbeshers to be 100% honest, I feel more comfortable with people from Norway and Finland than from southern Sweden. It's a bit strange but it feels like we have more in common.
@jemostrom Do you know what a Swede says when he’s asked to check if the blinker’s on the car works?

Working… Doesn’t work… Working… Doesn’t work…
@jemostrom @odd @dandycat Isn't there a song, "Ten thousand Swedes, ran through the weeds, chased by one Norwegian"?
@odd i read it in a play in High School, maybe “You Can’t Take it with You” or “I Remember Mama”? There was an uncle singing it to amuse himself. I think it may have been popular among immigrants to the US that were jockeying for status.
@jemostrom I always thought Sweden was just the fancy pants Sweden (Stockholm and South) but turns out you also have the North half which is more like Finland
@cliffordbeshers That makes sense. There were several skirmishes between the two countries in the 1600s and 1700s, so it might be an exaggerated version of one of the battles.
@pimoore I’ll say! I never would have anticipated my small post about my terrible weather to evolve into a chain about Scandinavian countries, their history, and kind-hearted jabs. I love this place!
@pimoore I think 25°C (outside) and a faint breeze is the optimal condition for humans, (me at least). During the late summer, if it gets in the 30°C++, I find it too hot, but somehow I always like having some of those days, to have it feel like it’s really been summer.
