Dipped in raspberry juice. That was the joke that always made my mother laugh. Those finches look like someone turned them over and dipped them in raspberry juice.

@cliffordbeshers It does look like that! I don’t think we have that one over here, but we do have the male Pyrrhula pyrrhula, or Eurasian bullfinch, which is called “Dompap” in Norwegian, and is often in Christmas decorations. (Not the actual bird, of course, but artistic representations of it).

@odd I've always loved the name "Bullfinch" but I don't think I've ever seen one. "Dompap" sounds quite fun.
