@miklb That’s definitely something I’d like to add to iOS... I don’t really know how often I would use them though. And Micropub/mf2 is still a little confusing around implementation on those to me, and I’ve never felt the compulsion to look in-depth at it.
@EddieHinkle Bridgy is the only way I know of doing it & it has a specific markup structure. That’s only real world experience I’ve had.
@miklb Its always interesting to see where replies to my posts originate from because I POSSE my replies to Twitter and Micro.blog and of course send IndieWeb replies via webmention. So when someone like you or @cleverdevil has the same POSSE’d post on all the services it’s funny to see where the replies come from (Indie Reply, Micro.blog or Twitter) 🤔 either because of push notifications or ease of replying you both tend to use Micro.blog
@EddieHinkle honestly it’s so much easier to reply here than it is via my website. I wish that wasn’t the case, but I go with it because everything gets picked up on my site as a webmention anyway.
@cleverdevil Even compared to Together? I don't visit micro.blog itself anymore cause I have my following feed and the discover timeline added to my reader and it's way easier having everything in one place!
@cleverdevil Yeah, I don’t think it’s wrong, just interesting to note. Helps think through what UX areas need to be refined on the direct IndieWeb tools 🙂
@aaronpk yes, for now. Primarily due to two factors:
I get push notifications from the Micro.blog iOS app, which makes it super easy to see a reply, then quickly type out a response.
Properly including a @-mention that is hyperlinked in my reply isn’t easy from Together / Known.
@matpacker I’m delighted to have my site be self-hosted, but I still have a ways to go to get everything dialed in just how I like it.
@matpacker Agreed there is still room to get better with WordPress, but I’m running stock theme and plugins with just a couple of minor tweaks and everything is starting to be very smooth. I’d say another few weeks a lot of kinks will be ironed out.
@matpacker well no platform can you use any theme with it and get right results. Jekyll themes need mf2 or they won’t get you want you want either. But certainly our goal is get a minimal viable experience with any theme.
@cleverdevil Same here. I can add the correct HTML but my rss feed strips out the html so you only get the plain @ mention on micro.blog
