@handy we have some of those at home, and they’re great. Carrying them around isn’t practical, though. I get that disposable plastic straws can be wasteful, but I think we’re in a phase of overreaction about them, and instead of reducing our usage of them, we’re just not using them at all and replacing them with alternatives that, frankly, are awful to use. I’d prefer to see restaurants and bars just not provide straws unless they’re requested, and then to use traditional plastic disposable straws.

@handy interesting, but I just don’t want to carry anything else with me. When I want a straw at a restaurant, I’d like them to supply me with a good one. Paper straws are objectively bad. If they give me a clean, resusable (metal or silicone or whatever) straw, that’s fine. Disposable plastic straws would also be fine. I rarely want a straw, but when I do, I want it to be good 😀
