I am baffled by the fact that Apple hasn’t made exceptions for Mozilla, so that Firefox can truly exist on iOS.

Right now it seems like Windows is a better option for open web advocates, especially when you factor in Microsoft’s massive pro-developer push in recent years.

@simonwoods I, an Apple fanatic since I was 11, am slowly spending the latter half of this year switch one app at a time over to an open source alternative with the intention to leave Apple’s platform entirely at the end of the year. This year has really spoken volumes about the direction Apple is headed and it’s not the Apple I once fell in love with.

@simonwoods P.S. I’m liking how Linux is looking nowadays. Windows still has a ton of concerning privacy practices.

@cjkonecnik My back-up plan is a little drastic but a fair representation of a constant aspect of my relationship with tech in general; it's good but best in moderate doses.

@simonwoods That's almost exactly what I'm going for! Only I’m also thinking about adding a good, dedicated e-reader so I can take time to totally disconnect.

@cjkonecnik Yes, that too! It's such a good tool and not (yet) totally ruined by Amazon's monopoly.
