One thing I wonder about is why people who obsess about note-taking and research apps seem to care so little about output? Namely, if you’re going to pick a methodology wouldn’t you begin by investigating the quality of the work of the inventors?

@baldur Hypothesis, minted from my own experience of having fallen into this pit in the past: it's easy for the note-taking and tool-obsessing—especially the tool-obsessing—to become a focus in itself rather than a means to some other end. (Same with GTD!) In which case: output isn't the point.

@chriskrycho Yeah. Tool-obsession can become a pasttime in its own right. And not limited to software. GAS (Gear-Acquisition-Syndrome) is a thing in many fields and hobbies 😁
