I’ve been really enjoying my copy of MarsEdit I won at Micro Camp, but I’m curious how others are handling its lack of an iPhone app. I have a draft post saved locally I’ve been working on that I can’t add to if inspiration strikes while I’m out and about.

Should I save all drafts to Micro.blog too?

@craigmcclellan That's what I've been doing when I know I won't finish — I "publish" as a draft and it syncs with micro.blog.

What irks me more is that markdown gets converted to HTML as soon as you publish, so I have to wade through all the markup if and when I forget to add a link.

@craigmcclellan I confess that as much as I love the idea of MarsEdit, in practice the editor and I don't seem to vibe with one another. I end up writing longer posts in Ulysses and just publishing directly from there.

@miljko Check Mars Edit Settings — Blogs — Publishing and try setting the Apply Preview Filter to Content unchecked. Does that help?

@craigmcclellan I have used Mars Edit for years and love it - but I am totally with you on the missing iOS app - such that for me on MicroBlog it has become a way to retrospectively clean up my blog posts - not to publish new posts - which I either do natively or through Drafts. Its a missing piece oft' raised in these 'hallowed halls' - but Daniel for whatever reason seems to resist.
