I wonder if there’s also a concept of “threads” here once you’ve posted one thing?

Should I just use the reply functionality like how I would in other “microblogging” places like Twitter and Mastodon?

This would be different from making an actual long post 😅

@chiawase I'm just gonna test myself if "threading" posts via replies would be the way to go in Micro.blog, or if it would be a different way of handling it here.

Creating a thread of posts, as opposed to writing one longer post, is a different type of behavior altogether which I think is still a valid thing to do online, given that sometimes we don't have everything we want to share about a particular topic at that very moment.

My assumption is that given this post of mine is now considered a reply, and is lengthy enough to constitute as a longer post, then it'll just be appended like a comment but maybe not necessarily considered a post on its own?

Already I can see that there's some form of handling for replies that are unique, and that it does show the previous post/s if you open it up, which is how it's also been the case in other microblogging apps I've used in the past.

Also interesting to see that the reply I just posted isn't crossposted to my Mastodon and BlueSky (what I currently have set up), which is neat as I expected this behavior. 😆

Another thing I'm trying here is purposely removing my self-tag to see if that will change anything? In the UI for drafting my reply, I still do see my "replying to (self)" note and it didn't remove itself when I removed my self-tag. Maybe this'll work out okay.
