@chet what drone/UAS are you looking at/are getting? I don’t have one but it’s something I’m considering. I need to take the time to get my FAA commercial drone license, which is simple if you’re a rated pilot.

@jmreekes I took my part 107 certification for part 61 holders back in 2016 just for fun. I didn’t realize that it was only good for 24 months (basically a flight review). I’m out of review, so I’m going to get that taken care of next month and then do the Part 107 recurrent training. Not planning on doing any UAS work for commercial use, but it’s good practice to conform to process that’s in place instead of winging it as a rec pilot and busting the rule.
I’m looking at the Mavic Mini. I will do some aerial photography, but honestly, I just want to take it places and fly it.
@chet Cool. I need to do get commercial drone license. I’m off for the next couple of weeks, so I’m going to try to knock it out.
@jmreekes I re-uped my currency today and it took about an hour. Not a big deal. The Part 107 rules are super easy and, for any certificated pilot, logical.
