I’ve been doing a lot of ARKit and SceneKit work this past month and while I think the technology is cool and impressive, I’m struggling to see how it would be actually useful in an app.
@cheesemaker I feel that way about ARKit a lot. I think it’s really Apple paving the way for future forms of AR technology so that when the time comes they already have hundreds of apps that support it. As long as I have to hold my phone up as a view finder it’s not really useful to me outside of measuring things.
@EddieHinkle I agree. I'm not saying there won't be a place for it. To me, the issue is that many companies are being too eager and spending a bunch of $ on something that nobody ultimately wants.
