I’m still experimenting with Ubuntu via a virtual machine. Unlike macOS, core OS updates are very quick to install. It is refreshing. I think I’m ready to install it on an old laptop and, maybe, use it for a week for fun.

@cdevroe Something I always found baffling. How fast are those Linux updates, right? macOS is a relative, and it takes ages to update.

@maique There must be more to it. I'm sure Apple would make them as fast as they possibly could. But, they do seem very long.

@jakelacaze You talking about sudo apt full-upgrade? Or something along those lines? I'm still learning!

@cdevroe I haven’t tried Ubuntu as a desktop in years. I did enjoy exploring it as a possibility but I got tired of driver issues causing hardware not to work properly. I wonder if things have improved in that area. What desktop environment are you using?

@jakelacaze Yes! It's so satisfying seeing 100's of packages ready to be updated and all you need to do is press "y" and be confident that it will all work.
