For new users of the Micro.blog Mac app, it might go a long way to have buttons for control (refresh, new post, etc) in addition to the keyboard only controls that are there now. (similar to the iOS app)

Thoughts?

@Burk Like a classic toolbar? I’ve definitely seen some people who couldn’t find some (I think New Post) of the features and had to be pointed to the menu commands.

@smokey Yeah! Some kind of toolbar would be good too. Clickable actions that are right in front of you. Like with the iOS app you tap the upper right corner for new post, not tripple swipe to the left while holding down on the volume up button.

@Burk @smokey I'm confused, especially since Smokey's reply kinda confirmed my suspicion; isn't the New Post command in the Mac menu? And isn't that menu basically the default toolbar for the whole OS?

(excuse my Windows-based naivety!)

@simonwoods @Burk Yes, New Post is in the File menu. But maybe it's not that obvious for everybody, if you don't think of posts as files. A button in the main window might help, like in the Mac Messages app.

@carlesbellver Whilst I'm sure that's true in some cases, I wouldn't be surprised if the more common case is as @Burk has pointed out twice already: "just like iOS"

I'm not saying whether this approach is correct (I've never used a Mac and haven't had an iPhone since the 5S) but I do think it'll be interesting to see if Manton is ever able to include iOS power users in the development of the apps.
