All I want is a notes app that is like OmniFocus, but for notes. Nothing I use (and trust me, I’ve tried them all) hits the spot.
@eurobubba Hard to explain which is why I, or anybody else, has built it! But I want quick entry, notes referenced against projects, and structure without it becoming a cesspit of duplication and confusing hard to find cross links.
@canion When I was solo I went back and forth between DEVONthink and Obsidian. I added Notion after hiring a couple of VAs. They’re all good in different ways but I can’t say I’m a raving fan of any of them. I’d love to be able to settle on just one.
@canion I assume you have explored drafts ? For me it’s not all .. but a great start and then export to wherever they need including obsidian vaults .. and have found by keeping those vaults in my Claude folder .. that one place it is allowed .. Claude can manage and help with keeping all YAML consistent and managed.
@JohnPhilpin Definitely know Drafts. I have an on/off relationship with it. Obsidian I’ve been using for the last year but it quickly becomes a junk drawer where I put stuff in but can’t then never find it later when I need it.
@BestofTimes I think it’s the contextual piece I’m missing. Like having notes alongside relevant tasks, contexts and projects. OF stays organised while Notes apps quickly get messy and duplicative.
@canion Gruber has been pushing finalist recently … take and contexts might be what you need in there .. I am running a trial at moment
