I’m falling down the rabbit hole of encrypted internet services. First Keybase for messaging, then Standard Notes for notes and now Tresorit for file storage and secure sharing. : blog.andrewcanion.com

@canion I’m always interested in a better notes app and used to love Simplenote and now Bear. For you, what makes Standard Notes stand out?

@canion It’s been a while since I’ve used Standard Notes. I just downloaded the iOS app

@canion I like that I can switch between Standard Notes extensions within the mobile app. That wasn’t possible the last time I used the app (at least I don’t remember being able to)

@jmreekes What do you use Standard Notes for? I have so many Notes apps. How does it fit in your workflow?

@BestofTimes I’m not sure it does stand out. I think it’s just my general addiction searching for the perfect notes app. Yesterday I built a mind map of all my notes apps!

@canion I haven’t used it in months till today. I’m gonna mess with it to see if I could use it to replace Apple Notes. I’m happy with Apple Notes so it may not be a long experiment.

@canion One thing I don’t like about Standard Notes is that I haven’t found a way to do any sort of automation with it on iOS. I use Drafts or Shortcuts, and Apple Notes to keep track of monetary tips for my expense reports. I can automate Bear as well
