Registered for a new test account on Micro.blog to remind myself what the onboarding flow is like. It’s not great. “Welcome to M.b, here’s a totally blank page! Good luck!” Going to tweak a few little things so new users aren’t lost.

@manton.org I'm a pretty fresh user. I definitely agree the onboarding is pretty bad. There's this dedicated micro.blog with a pretty good Q&A but it's hard to find it even if you're looking.

And now the value of Micro.blog seems pretty obvious to me. Your own personal, minimal and self-hosted blog, Twitter, and Instagram instance. That's it.

Maybe linking to this Q&A microblog, subscribing to a funnel with emails made of its posts and showing examples of interesting microblogs which utilize all of the platform's features would be helpful.

And then there are some parts of the app that really make you puzzled, like the Bookshelves (like, why is there a dedicated focus for this?). Definitely need to explain this a bit better :)
