Have added Craft to my other writing apps that are (in no particular order)
- Drafts
- Bear
- iAWriter
- Ulysses
- TextMate
- Notes
- Pages
Two more and I’ll be in double figures.
It’s official. I am diseased.

@JohnPhilpin craft is working really well (the best I’ve had so far) for the note taking / recording that I need to do. Pages and cards are really useful. Will be paying for the full version shortly to get access to the versioning. Just hoping for simple tables / columns which have been promised.
@JohnPhilpin Where have you found a use for Craft? I want to like and use it, but don’t have a place where stylish semi-word processor documents are useful...
@canion still sorting that out - and will get better as they provide more export / share function.
I write a lot in drafts but it eventually gets to a point where I want to see it outside of plain text - yes I can do that in drafts using marked .. but not quite the same.
I also tend to have many pieces going at once ... so there is that.
I also like the ability to have standard pieces inserted into different docs - update once - use many
But yes - not fully fleshed out yet.
Oh and I notice that you can have docs up and shared on the web much as a google doc
@JohnPhilpin I have just come across this post, while searching for something else across Micro.blog. With so many writing app options, how do you decide what to use at any give moment?
@crossingthethreshold interesting that since then … watching what naturally get used.
Pretty much all short form stuff starts in drafts and is then pushed to the ‘right’ place.
Craft seems to have taken over - although it still doesn’t do everything I want … but definitely fits into the ‘just works’ category.
Ulysses and IAWriter haven’t been touched for a while now - but a function of what I am writing?
@crossingthethreshold oh and bear now gone - notes now all sit in ‘notes’
I am looking at obsidian - but might be overkill for my needs - if only notes supported [[wiki-style-tags]] my decisions would be easier.
@JohnPhilpin Thank you for the replies. I find it interesting how others’ workflows come together. Aren’t you on SetApp? I’m not, but I see it giving easier access to more apps.
@crossingthethreshold I am on set app … love. It and with products like MindNode … easily pays for itself .. some great little utilities in there.
