To all bloggers: If you were born and brought up in the time of modern social media, where Twitter and Instagram have always existed, would you even blog?

@moonmehta Probably not. Video gets the point across faster and there’s a lot more engagement.
@moonmehta Good question.
@moonmehta I don’t think I can know.
@moonmehta Yes. I’m weird that way.
@moonmehta Yep!
@moonmehta I wasn’t born into this time but was in elementary school when Twitter debuted. I didn’t have a blog until two years ago. Nobody in school asks what your blog is so they can follow it. It’s just not a thing. Only a couple of my peers have blogs.
@davids Interesting.
@pratik I do think blogging platforms have become easier to use relative to the last decade, including registering a domain from within, but the friction still remains high enough as you alluded. I too think that people need to whine less about how people don’t blog and be more inquisitive and empatheric about why so. That’s what I tried conveying in the last question on my People and Blogs interview as well.
@moonmehta thank you for this question, you got me going and reflected on this in three ways.
@jthingelstad Love this!
Incidentally, I’ve used a similar analogy as your apartment and homes example in my article on “how to feel at home on the Internet”.
