I need to renew my British passport and apply for Irish citizenship.
@inthedeltawaves Well, I’ve been here since 2006 and it’s long overdue. That said, I’m still incredibly irritated at Brexit and feel much more European than I do British. My wife’s Irish, our eldest three were born in England and she’s in the process of getting them their Irish citizenship, so it makes sense.
@BenSouthwood it’s great to have options. Get on it!
Me and my family are in Oregon but have Italian citizenship. We have been racking our brains trying to figure out a way to make an EU living arrangement work for us, even if only for a year or two to try it out.
@inthedeltawaves I’d have applied for citizenship anyway, it’s a no-brainer. I haven’t visited ‘home’ since Brexit, I think there are agreements in place between Ireland and Britain - but visiting mainland Europe on a British passport sounds needlessly complicated. I’d love to visit Italy, looks gorgeous. Good luck!
