@drno first time I've heard of this move (usually it's from WordPress blogs, or just socials). Can I see prev. domain (even archive?). I consider Squarespace the King of static-site website builders. Good luck recreating high-quality design to Hugo. If it was blog-heavy I can see the transition might be easier.
@warner No complaints with Squarespace over the last few years. I didn’t post anything on that original page, so ~$160/yr for static site hosting made me look for alternatives. I was planning on switching to a static html page for hosting, but this seems like a middle ground.
@drno I design static sites mostly now with highly affordable Carrd.
M.b is perfect for personal content-driven though
@drno I also want to transfer my domain from Squarespace to micro.blog. Do you have any tips or gotchas that surprised you? Did you just use the Squarespace instructions for transferring the domain? I'm usually pretty facile with tech stuff, but my previous experiences with domains and hosting have me pretty intimidated. I never really understood what I was doing.
@brownstudy Hello! I had my domain registered at a third-party registrar, so I only needed to swap a few settings at the registrar. I didn’t move the domain registration. I moved all of my content (which was not much) over manually.
