@estebantxo Dave is actually a big fan of micro.blog, and has an account. He's futzing with something specific with WP's database and how it can auto-publish via ActivityPub. I think it's fully integrated, whereas those of us on micro.blog only get a subset of Mastodon interactivity.
@briandigital It took me a while to understand the difference between using the micro.blog ActivityPub user and cross-posting to a separate Mastodon account but I finally did, thanks to @jsonbecker. I can’t find his post in the Help Forums right now but he gave me the clues I needed. The AP user is like an RSS subscription tag also receives replies and shows them in the MB timeline and as comments in my blog. I like this. Cross-posting to a Mastodon account might receive boosts and stars, but you need to go to Mastodon to see them and the replies don’t get sent to MB. So I chose the ActivityPub way and I like it. Micro.blog is my only timeline, I follow Mastodon accounts from here, and I receive replies that I can interact with in MB and my blog.
@estebantxo funny thing is I noticed @jsonbecker was doing this too and asked him directly last night about it 😆 I’d love to see that forum post though. Guess I’ll go digging. I want to plumb this the best I can.
@briandigital unfortunately, I’ve probably written up this idea too many times or things close to it to make it easy to find the best version of my description. I strongly suspect I know which one @estebantxo is talking about, but because I didn’t put it on my blog finding it again may not be easy.
@estebantxo oh man i would love to get this figured out. if you ever find it again, please let me know!
@briandigital @jsonbecker @takeo I found this post from Jason, and this other one too. They're not the one I had in mind, I believe I read one slightly longer and more detailed post a few days ago, but these I think can be helpful.
