@brentsimmons I'm still trying to understand this stuff. I have a micro.blog account and have figured out how to follow people on Mastadon using the micro.blog app or Icro (which seems to remember where I am in timeline). Is there a point in also having a Mastadon account if use micro.blog account. This might be a question for Manton.
@davereed Because I’m an app writer in the open web space, I figured I should have a regular Mastodon account so I could have that experience. If I weren’t, I’d probably just use my Micro.blog account, since it works with Mastodon.
(To be clear — I’m keeping my Micro.blog account! It’s just that I’ve added a regular Mastodon account.)
I think that each case is unique — some Micro.blog folks will have reasons to create a regular Mastodon account, and some will be quite happy using just their Micro.blog account, since it works with Mastodon.
@brentsimmons I was slightly confused when you popped up yesterday until I realized what was up. Testament to @manton and ActivityPub that it felt so seamless.
@Gte @brentsimmons @manton I'm still a little confused… What are you using each for? Is one posting to the other? Is there any point following both? etc. :)
