Don't think that because @brentsimmons doesn't charge for NetNewsWire, he's not competitive. We are very similar in this respect: we want to win, but we want to win against great competitors. In that scenario, losing isn't so bad, either. micro.blog/brentsimmons/156514

The only thing worse than losing is winning without breaking a sweat.

@danielpunkass I am competitive! I’m sure way more than it looks.

However, I write NetNewsWire because I’m on two teams that matter a lot to me — team protocols-over-platforms (RSS etc.) and team Mac-assed-Mac-apps.

NetNewsWire is meant to be a great app that people love, first and foremost — but it’s also for the promotion of both those teams’ goals. When there’s an Unread for Mac, for instance, I still win. :)

@brentsimmons I worried I might slightly misrepresent you but I went for it anyway! Thanks for finessing.

@danielpunkass MarsEdit over here is so good that it convinced me to use Wordpress when I made a site 4 years ago and remains the biggest factor in keeping me from moving to using a SSG
