@cheribaker @solarbird a lot of us moved to it when Livejournal was sold. It had a data breach at one point and never had the audience, but otherwise worked exactly the same. The only person I know who still uses an account there is author Martha Wells.

@cheribaker we have a few people in our community use it as they can happily embedded within a page hosted on Neocities… I don’t use it myself, not sure of the pros and cons

@cheribaker There is Haven. I have no experience with it but it seems to have privacy/access controls. More blogging platforms here. Good luck in your quest.

@cheribaker Dreamwidth is good!! The people running it do so with care, the codebase changes slowly but it works, the RSS support is good, the formatting is sufficient, the privacy controls are good.

The fediverse integration isn't there yet but it's not off the table ( github.com/dreamwidth/dreamwid )
