I really like the idea of Levenger’s Shirt Pocket Briefcase which lets you take notes on 3 x 5 index cards. Typing notes to myself on my phone is a pain.

@Marty I found a cheaper knockoff on Amazon. 1/2 the price so I'm trying it.

@bradenslen They are nice. I've not used mine since getting the Bellroy Field Notes cover but I often pivot back to using lots of index cards and when that happens the Shirt Pocket Briefcase jumps back into the rotation.

@nathanrhale Back in my PDA days, i would always jot notes with the sylus, which was fast. I can't do that on my smartphone, so this might be handy.

@kitt I'm trying plain white grid cards. I'll see how that goes.

@bradenslen I can touch type while walking on my phone…but I remember doing an experiment in stopping walking and typing notes to be a bit more intentional and safe. I remember notes and calendar where two of the first features that got me on the smartphone train. I really wonder if taking notes on a smartphone is better...especially as I usually have a notebook with me at all times.

@nathanrhale @bradenslen Field Notes pocket notebook does the same thing for way less $$ IMO

@stevepbrady Yeah the initial investment is high, but over time FN notebooks add up, while index cards can be had for cheap. Also if you like the flexibility and durability of index cards they can make a difference. It’s very different format than a bound book.

@odd Can you get the same thing from inside your country or the EU? Or something close to it?

@bradenslen I’ll check with Staples. I searched for the same one in the UK Amazon, but they didn’t have it. Haven’t looked at the German store either yet. But Staples would be my best bet.
