@bradenslen Yea! Another sideways photo. I think I'm going back to pure text.
@bradenslen I made a couple posts to my external WordPress blog from my iPhone via the WordPress app and encountered sideways and upside down photos. 🙃
@bradenslen Oddly, everything looked fine from my iPhone but the rotation errors showed up via Safari on Mac. This one of your typewriter looks fine on my iPhone. Away from my Mac but can check it later...
@fgtech Yeah it was fine on my Android phone but somewhere between hitting Post and publishing it turned sideways. I'm not sure what is going on.
@bradenslen @fgtech I can’t believe we’re in 2019 and we still have software that doesn’t respect EXIF orientation. I thought WebKit had solved this back in the day and Gecko was still lagging, but, if so, it must have regressed on desktop at some point….
I believe Manton has mentioned that the official apps rotate-and-remove when uploading in order to work around this sort of thing.
@fgtech I haven’t tested it (because my workflow for stuff that doesn’t go through the M.b apps is desktop+scripts+browser), but a while ago I came across this plugin for WordPress that claims to auto-rotate images on upload when necessary.
@smokey Ah. Yes I was using the web interface for posting to MB. It's cramping what little style I have whatever it is!
@smokey I’ve been meaning to thank you for this suggestion as well. I am totally frustrated (disgusted, really) with the state of my whole photo workflow and must find a better way to get through them all.
