@amit I’m in the same boat, having a Linux laptop. Currently I use Quill to post everything to Micro.blog. While longform Quill is better than the MB web interface I’m still not fond of it.
I’m very seriously thinking of splitting my personal blog Quill/MB will continue for short posts and start a new *Press blog for long posts. I value the community at MB and frankly, I don’t like *Press for short posts without titles. MB handles them better.
But, for a long time, I’ve found myself avoiding long posts on MB and that can’t continue.
Additionally, I miss having a commenting system for longer posts and that’s something I can’t work around.
Anyway, that’s my current thinking. I’ll probably continue to dither.
